GRC Tuesdays: Internal Control – From Necessary Evil to Operational Excellence

I really like ISO31000’s definition of risk management— it states that a risk is the effect of uncertainty on objectives, be it positive or negative. As a result, it’s pretty clear that any risk in your register should be associated with your strategic or operational objectives.

Hear Direct from Customers about How Adoption of IBCS Is Growing

We’re seeing a lot of customer momentum in adopting International Business Communication Standards (IBCS) for their reporting, dashboarding, and data visualizations. Like the chief financial officer of Editorial Prensa Iberica explains in this video, they’re adopting IBCS standards in order to drive alignment, shorten implementation time, and improve outcomes. And of course, our SAP Board adopted IBCS standards in our own financial reporting back in 2011.

Predictive Thursdays: Predictive Analytics and the Segment of One

One of the areas that SAP is investing heavily in is the idea of providing ‘extreme customer experience’ to the ‘Segment of One.’  What does this mean for analytics? Traditionally, large enterprises split customers into multiple segments based on customer attributes that were then used to identify and classify customers.  These segments included their location, their current and potential spend, and which products and options they chose when they became a customer.
