man on mountainWe have a great piece of news to share in order start the year on a high note. Leading industry analyst firm Forrester Research Inc. recently released The Forrester Wave™: Enterprise Business Intelligence Platforms, Q4, 2013, which rates SAP as a leader in the business intelligence (BI) market.

Like other Forrester Wave reports, this report is often used by companies to better understand the BI market and the vendors they are evaluating for their business. We are very pleased to see SAP cited in the report for its broad BI innovations.

The report is based on a detailed product review from Boris Evelson – Vice President, Principal Analyst with Forrester – as well as positive feedback from customer interviews with Forrester analysts.

Notable findings in the report include:

  • SAP leads the market with broad BI innovations. According to the report: “Whether it’s SAP HANA for low latency, agile, and in-memory analytics; [SAP] Lumira for business user self-service; or [SAP] Crystal for scalable, mission critical reports, SAP’s philosophy and strategy of ‘the best tool for each job’ delivers on its promise.”
  • Recent survey data indicates that 36 percent of companies use SAP for BI. Customers particularly praised SAP BusinessObjects data integration, information delivery technical architecture, analytics and operational capabilities, as well as SAP’s corporate and product vision.
  • SAP is the vendor that Forrester clients ask about most often in BI inquiries. Based on the number of BI-related inquiries by Forrester clients over the past 12 months, SAP ranks first among 11 leading BI vendors.
