CaptureThere was a clear theme at day one of SAPPHIRE NOW: Simplify.  What does that mean exactly? Do things faster, innovate faster, and reduce time to value.

My favorite “simplicity” quote from Bill McDermott’s keynote: “Run simple is a movement to fight a common enemy: complexity. Our customers deserve simple, and we will give them simple.” Two examples of that include the announcements around SAP Fiori now offered with SAP software and the unveiling of SAP Simple Finance. Missed the keynote? No worries, you can catch the replay on SAPPHIRE NOW online.

In every session I attended today, the speakers mentioned how we’re simplifying things at SAP—and it resonated with the audiences. Of particular interest were the case studies presented. Below are just a few of the analytics customers featured today that highlight how SAP helped them to simplify.

The NFL wanted to simplify data to help consumers make better, winning decisions. Their goal: bring advanced data and more tools to NFL fantasy players. They achieved this by combining NFL stats and technology using SAP HANA and SAP Lumira in the cloud.

Norwegian Cruise Lines shared how they were running multiple systems to solve business problems, with no business intelligence tool to bring it all together. They attended SAPPHIRE NOW in 2013 and were very impressed with SAP BusinessObjects business intelligence (BI), which they purchased along with SAP HANA. Combining both gave them a 360-degree view of their business.

Cox Communication had two goals: improve customer acquisition and retention and provide customized product recommendations. They selected SAP InfiniteInsight for automated modeling and embedded it within their ecosystem and existing architecture. As a result, they saw a 14-percent increase in products per household and 18-percent increase in response rate in recent campaigns. What set SAP InfiniteInsight apart? Ease of use, a high level of automation, and the value for the business.

SAP Analytics continued the theme with new innovations. Watch Christian Rodatus as he talks about SAP’s exciting new announcements around Trusted Data Discovery and SAP Analytics in the Cloud.
