asug2So, either you couldn’t convince your boss to approve your budget or you really didn’t think it was worth your time. I mean…who really wants to spend time with other users who are in the same position as you, looking for answers to the same questions anyway?

Well, here are five reasons you can use to convince your team, your boss, or even yourself on why you shouldn’t miss the event next year (in no particular order).

Educational Sessions – All of the sessions are handpicked by ASUG members who are very familiar with the topics you care about, like self-service BI, dashboarding and visualization, and BI platform. The session presenters are either users of the products or the SAP product managers of the tools, so you get great information first hand from expert resources.

A couple of our favorite SAP mentors – Tammy Powlas and Joyce Butler – shared their conference experience with us and also other opportunities to participate in ASUG activities – including at SAP TechEd && d-code.

If you’d like to see the presentation content, visit ASUG SAP Analytics and BusinessObjects User Conference Event Presentations to download a copy of the session slides.

Powerful Keynotes –Hear for yourself the passion and commitment SAP has to BusinessObjects customers and get the latest on the BI roadmap and all the newest technology features in Jayne Landry’s recap on her keynote and the SAP BusinessObjects BI simplification strategy.

Also, the town hall session after the keynote is an added bonus. How often do you get the chance to ask questions directly to SAP executives?

1:1 Networking Opportunities – The ASUG SAP Analytics and BusinessObjects User Conference is just the right size to network 1:1 with your peers and SAP solution experts through several event activities, like the hands-on sessions and the BI Solution Center.

David Hudrlik from St. Jude Medical discusses his BI journey, including upgrading to SAP BusinessObjects 4.1.

Latest DataGeek Challenge – If you’re lost in the world of dark data, this is your chance to Timojoin this year’s challenge, Thrones of Data, and test drive the newest visualization technology (SAP Lumira) to turn data into meaningful insight.

You get a cool t-shirt just for entering and bragging rights galore if you win! Be sure to enter or else!

What do you think the theme will be next year?

Developer Wars – This is the highlight of the event. Why? You get a group of developers who work a full 28 hours to build awesome dashboards. They come up with the most hilarious characters and skits to present their findings – and all for a good cause. This year, it was Jobs for the Future.

Hear The Expendables, Dashboard Divas, and ATCG Solutions teams talk about their experience (team NTTDATA Neutralizers were the winners, but were already off celebrating before we could capture them on video).

And check out the highlight reel below to get a feel of the energy and excitement in the room and get more details at SABOUC Developer Wars – A Resounding Three-Peat.
