In that last month or so, the SAP IT Operations Analytics (SAP ITOA) team has been writing a lot about our new Support Package release. If you haven’t had the opportunity to see SAP ITOA 2.0 SP04 in action yet, you’re in luck because the November edition of our SAP ITOA webinar series is completely dedicated to SP04. My colleague Angela Harvey will be demonstrating the new features and improved functionality, as well as explaining the business case for a holistic, real-time, predictive solution for IT infrastructure management.

Without stealing too much of Angela’s thunder, here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect on Wednesday, November 22nd at 11am EST/8am PST.

Predefined Content

Fear not! SAP IT Operations Analytics 2.0 SP04 still features the same great look and feel for the Dashboards and Stories. However, now users will have access to analytics Stories right out-of-the-box. This predefined content helps users monitor their SAP ITOA consumption and growth as well as SAP Host Agent data used for root cause analysis.

The new support package also allows users to download the SQL statements that are powering the graphical elements of dashboards to see what has been queried rather than just the results. And as a bonus, some tinkering on the backend architecture has dramatically improved the load time of data in the browser interface, especially for Stories which are now loading in only two seconds.

Integration with IT Ticket Systems

Ticketing is an integral part of any IT organization. With the advent of SP04, SAP ITOA now has the ability to both send and receive information from IT ticketing systems. This empowers IT organizations by presenting IT professionals with a depth of information about the issue that was previously unavailable, making resolution of issues quick and easy.

Simplified Data Acquisition Management

As the old saying goes, “garbage in, garbage out.” The new Data Acquisition Management system in SAP IT Operations Analytics 2.0 SP04 makes it easy to set up and manage collectors that “pull” data in and receivers that have data “pushed” to them by chatty IT devices. Support Pack 04 also introduces the ability to offload data to a warm-store layer, SAP HANA dynamic tiering, which reduces both hardware and software costs.

Angela will also speak about other enhancements, such as the addition of a free-hand SQL block to the Analytics Builder and the revamped predictive functionality. But again, I don’t want to steal TOO much of her thunder.
