Whether you call it football or soccer, the world will be enthralled by this summer’s international tournament. Teams will be cursed and cheered, tears of joy and sorrow will flow, and only one nation will be left standing victorious in the end. The DataGenius team here at SAP Analytics loves a good tournament, as evidenced by our long-standing #VizTheMadness program. But this time we wanted to invite everyone to use SAP Analytics Cloud and participate in the fun.

So it is with great pleasure that we introduce #PredictTheKick, a chance for you to take your tournament experience to the next level and receive MatchGenius status. Partners, students, and DataGeniuses-at-large are all invited to

  1. Predict which team will finish first in each group using SAP Analytics Cloud
  2. Submit those pics to the DataGenius team
  3. Compete to win amazing prizes.

Participants will also receive a limited-edition pair of SAP DataGenius socks while supplies last!

The highlight of the contest is the grand prize for both partners and DataGeniuses-at-large: a €5000 donation to a charity that focuses on engaging youth through sport. The DataGenius team had the opportunity to work with SAP Corporate Social Responsibility to select the charities and we picked some great ones:

Soccer Without Borders

Soccer Without Borders aims to build a more inclusive world through soccer. Our mission is to use soccer as a vehicle for positive change, providing under-served youth a toolkit to overcome obstacles to growth, inclusion and personal success.

Sport dans la Ville

For 18 years, Sport dans la Ville has been serving disadvantaged kids through sports and job-readiness training. We meet the youth within their neighborhoods to have a stronger and greater impact, with programs dedicated to serving youth at every stage of their development.

Kein Abseits e.V. (No Offsides)

kein Abseits!, or No Offsides!, is a Berlin-based German NGO committed to supporting children facing adversity and enabling integrative encounters between people from different backgrounds. The main goal of the organization is to contribute to educational equality and a peaceful community coexistence.

Join Us – It’s Easy!

No matter if you’ve never seen SAP Analytics Cloud before or you’re a seasoned power user, everyone can participate in the contest. We’ve even supplied a starter kit of data to kick-start (ha!) your analysis, though you can supplement with any data you think will set your entry apart. It’s even easier for students as the data models are already loaded into the SAP Analytics Cloud for Higher Education.

For more information on how to enter, where to get access to SAP Analytics Cloud, and the prizes to be won, check out the #PredictTheKick website. And don’t be shy about sharing your pick to win the tournament in the comments section below, whether it’s based on national pride, a favourite player, or some good old-fashioned data analysis.
