What’s the common point between Toy Story 2, Star Wars: Episode V—The Empire Strikes Back and The Godfather Part II? Clearly not the story lines (that’s for sure), but in addition to the fact that they’re acclaimed motion pictures, they were rated higher that their prequel.

My point? A sequel can be every bit as good as the first version, if not even better. And I have no doubt that this will hold true for the second International SAP Conference for Internal Control, Compliance and Risk Management that will take place on March 12th and 13th in beautiful Barcelona.

What Can You Expect?

First of all, a warm welcome from the TA Cook organizers and the SAP team onsite who will be pleased to answer any questions you may have on the event and the SAP GRC solutions.

But most importantly, a very interesting agenda that starts on day 1 in the morning with two optional workshops:

  • Get More from Existing SAP GRC Solutions and Outlook on Next-Generation GRC: where you will be able to explore how you can embed the latest technology trends in your risk management and compliance processes to help you become an Intelligent Enterprise;
  • Digitize Your Financial Controls and Business Assurance: where SAP experts—and yours truly —will present several use cases of SAP GRC solutions embedded in various finance processes and show how protection of your data can become an asset on the balance sheet.

Progressing on the day, we will then have an opening keynote on “Next Generation Governance, Risk, and Compliance” delivered by Martin Naraschewski, GM and Global Head of the Line of Business Finance & Risk at SAP.

Then, comes the part that everyone is waiting for—the customer case studies for the next 1.5 days!

Partner Insights

Partners are SAP’s extended arm. They help us be successful and they make us relevant. In addition to the customer presentations, partners will be presenting on:

  • Intelligent IT Solutions for Digital Challenges in Compliance by Matthias Dennig from targens GmbH
  • EY Risk Navigator: A Digital Risk Platform to Deliver Risk Insights and Smart Technologies to Support the Intelligent Enterprise by Jan Steen and Thomas Jeschke from EY
  • From Concepts to Automation: Selected GRC Insights by Maxim Chuprunov from Riscomp GmbH

I am, of course, not forgetting our partners from Turnkey Consulting who will also be exhibiting onsite.

… And the Roadmap!

As a software vendor, our solution continuously evolves to bring new and better features but also increased user experience to our customers. Back by popular demand from last year is “SAP GRC Solutions—Latest Innovations and Future Outlook,” and I don’t see anyone better suited to deliver this session than Jochen Thierer, who leads the development team for SAP GRC solutions.

If you have never been to Barcelona, then I see no better reason to make the trip this year!
