This week at SAPPHIRE NOW, we’ll celebrate our most innovation customers that make the world run better with the SAP Innovation Awards. The 2019 SAP Innovation winners have been announced, and we want to highlight some of our favorites from data to analytics!

Red Bull

Red Bull established IT governed self-services for analytics and reporting empowering business users to instantly gain and share insights that help increase efficiency in operations, control the execution, and enhance the effectiveness of marketing campaigns by building dashboards up to 10x faster than before. They automated support for the generation and updated their annual business plan with unprecedented ease, speed, and accuracy.

The San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers needed to go from reactive to proactive. SAP and the 49ers partnered together with the goal of providing critical stadium information in real time (leveraging SAP Analytics and SAP Leonardo technology) to optimize the game-day experience at Levi’s stadium.

Signify

Signify saved up to 40% in costs for their customers by transforming their business model from selling light bulbs to light-as-a-service. Instead of fixed contracts, Signify was able to generate an overview of real-time usage costs with SAP Analytics Cloud and the SAP Leonardo Rapid Prototyping approach. Customers can now receive a variable bill based on usage and drive operational efficiency.

HarrisLogic

HarrisLogic demonstrated that highly sensitive data, such as mental health records, can be safely anonymized while still producing actionable data insights. They utilized SAP HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud to build a real-time, anonymized intelligent platform that consolidates and transforms behavioral health data into lifesaving analytics.

Borusan CAT

Borusan CAT wanted to catch customers before they took their maintenance services from competitors in the market. By using sensor data, machine learning, and SAP Analytics Cloud for data visualization, they were able to increase their prediction power on service sales and inventory management by 6x with 85% accuracy compared to traditional methods. This created a 1.75 million Euro increase within a year for services sales.

Munich Re

Munich Re created a comprehensive risk suite that has an analysis function of 10 million locations based on SAP HANA spatial and SAP Cloud Platform. It combines organizational hazard data from the past four decades with client data, the best of location data, and business intelligence— in one application. Clients now have easy access to Munich Re’s treasure trove of data from any device or location.

Kaeser

Kaeser improved customer satisfaction through predictive maintenance of 1000+ air compressors by combining IoT data with enterprise data. They orchestrated, transformed, and stored the IoT data with SAP Data Hub and leveraged the SAP HANA platform for analytics, data science, and machine learning. The solution resulted in a new revenue stream where customers can utilize a modern compressed air-as-a- service plan.

Asociacion de Cooperatives Argentinas

Asociacion de Cooperatives Argentinas built an intelligent spatial platform to detect and mitigate harm to ground water, crops, and fields. They automated alerts and recommendations of field conditions on a daily basis by combining SAP Cloud Platform, SAP HANA spatial services and SAP Leonardo Machine Learning Foundation.

Swisscom

Swisscom now has 80% fewer reports—from 5000 rigid reports to 1000 flexible queries by consolidating three legacy data warehouses to one. Swisscom successfully completed the world’s-first conversion from SAP BW to SAP BW/4HANA. They now have one single central financial data warehouse that is adaptable to the market developments.

Village Roadshow

Village Roadshow now has a 360-degree view of management and operational analytics resulting in a 15% reduction in labor costs and a 23% increase in net promoter score. They leveraged SAP HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, and SAP Business Warehouse to create a solution for real-time business intelligence just prior to launching a new joint venture of Village Roadshow and Topgolf.
